An Embarassing Christmas Dinner

This is a song about a story!!!!!

There's this girl, her name is Amy Tan
She fell in love with a minister's son 
His name was Robert

Amy found out that
her mom invited Robert's 
family over for Christmas Dinner
She was so nervous because 
they were having

fleshy prawns, 
a rock cod with bulging eyes,
they also had some tofu, 
and soaking dried fungus,
plus a plate full of squid

Finally the minister's family arived
along with Amy's relatives
when they got the table set
they all gathered 'round

they dished up their food
the minister's family
waiting patiently for the
plates to be passed on by

During the dinner her father
pulled off a fish's cheek
and said, "Amy, your favorite"
at that time she wanted to just disappear

Many years later
long after she had
gotten over her
crush on Robert

she was able to fully
appreciate her mother's lesson
and the true purpose behind
their particular menu

For Christmas Eve that year
her mother choose all
of her favorite foods
